How people talked about Claude app
The app has become something people build around. One person found that Linux lacked the computer-use connector that Windows and Mac have, so they packaged their own extension for Claude Desktop on Linux. People treat the app less as a finished product than as a socket, and what they plug into it is whatever they find missing. Another built a local web crawler for it, aimed at cutting token bloat.
The app keeps one account's chats, settings and connected tools in a single profile, and people who run several accounts have built tools to cope. One user runs separate Claude Desktop accounts for work, for personal use and for each client, and sums up the design in a line: "One app, one account, one set of connected tools."
