In brief
One person wrote that their employer makes them use Copilot, that "They actually monitor our use and use it as a KPI," and that when its directions for a Microsoft-owned enterprise system failed, it first told them they had done the steps wrong and then agreed when they pointed out the directions were its own. Being measured on whether you used a tool is a different relationship from judging it, and the complaint that follows reads as a report from inside a requirement rather than a review. Someone else wrote that their company recently gave them Microsoft 365 Copilot and that it can't do basic things, such as providing a link to a note in OneNote that opens in OneNote instead of a browser. That person's complaint is about an ordinary task, and it comes from someone whose company gave them the tool.

How people talked about Microsoft Copilot
Admirers and critics point at the same thing: reach. One person wrote that Copilot is good "in the entire Microsoft ecosystem" and described a job where a spreadsheet of IDs has to be cross-referenced to emails, each with its own Word document attached, which Copilot will do across Outlook, Word and Excel at once. That pitch rests on Copilot already sitting where the files and mail are. Another wrote that "the connector advantage of copilot is also its biggest risk," since it searches everything, including things people forgot were in SharePoint that "probably shouldnt be" there. The same capability looks like saved hours from one seat and a findable archive of forgotten files from the other.
One person asked Copilot to build a timeline from emails they had highlighted, was told it could not see the highlights, and answered that it is running in the same window as Outlook. Their answer treats the tool's position as the reason it should have seen them. A news item shared on Bluesky reported that Microsoft was investigating a known issue that makes the Copilot buttons disappear from classic Outlook for some Windows users. Both are complaints about Copilot inside Outlook: one about what it can see from the window it sits in, the other about buttons that went missing from it.
A Microsoft partner wrote that the sales guide for Copilot promises a large uplift and that "we are struggling to get this" even in part. That is a complaint from the side that sells the product. Someone else wrote that their company will renew an expensive analytics tool for the last time this year, because "people just organically moved off it with the availability of Copilot et al." The word that carries it is "organically," which puts the change in what people did rather than in anything the company decided.
Consumers describe changes that reach them through the app. One person wrote that since Copilot merged personal and business accounts into one app, their free personal account is blocked with "Daily limit reached" after a few requests, where before they had never run into any limit. In their telling the merge came first and the wall came after. Another wrote that the September update they were "forced to install" left them with no sound and a sign-in page that loops back to itself. Both reports tie a fault to a change in the app, and in the second the word "forced" shows how that person saw the install.
One person's description of it was short: "Copilot is a wrapper," and you can use Astra in it. The person who offered the word named a model that can be used inside it, as if the model were an option rather than the point. A post about Microsoft 365 said Grok models are rolling out in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, though not for the EU and UK at the time. Both describe Copilot as a place where different models can be used.
One of the warmest posts came from someone in a government department they call chronically underresourced, who wrote that Copilot does all their admin, including agendas, minutes and summaries, and frees time for more complex activities. In that telling the tool is welcome for what it takes off the desk, and the praise is about the work that is left. For a department short of resources, a tool that arrives with the building can be judged by the time it hands back, and that is a different question from whether its answers are any good.

Change compares this reading with the previous stored reading of the same subject, usually last week’s, and both endpoints stay visible with their dates. Each value carries its n; open it for its full conditions, coverage included. Stored weeks, above, cross eras, which marks a change in how weeks were captured: March era weeks were rebuilt from archives, with live capture from 7 Mar to 31 May, Archive backfill weeks were backfilled from archives (Reddit, Hacker News and arXiv only) and September era weeks were captured live from 16 Sep and filled in from archives.

Posts published 14–20 Sep 2026, as of 2 Oct 2026 04:00Z; in development. People count distinct platform identities and are never added across platforms. Share is Microsoft Copilot’s posts over all posts AIDRAN captured on that platform in the window. Reddit’s posts include its comments. A normal share is microsoft Copilot's share of each platform's posts in the 15 earlier stored weeks of the same era (2026-W23, 2026-W24, 2026-W25, 2026-W26, 2026-W27, 2026-W28, 2026-W29, 2026-W30, 2026-W31, 2026-W32, 2026-W33, 2026-W34, 2026-W35, 2026-W36, 2026-W37), per platform. Not ranked on YouTube: n 2 people, below the threshold of 20 people. Not ranked on Hacker News: n 2 people, below the threshold of 20 people.
Distinct people who posted about each subject on each platform, 14–20 Sep 2026, as of 2 Oct 2026 04:00Z, from release 2026-W38’s summary table (published; every figure coverage-limited). Each strip is on its own scale and nothing is added across platforms: one person can post on several. arXiv, Google News and Exa carry articles, which have no authors, so they have no ranking by people.
