Using AI image generators to manufacture visual proof has turned confirmation bias into a production pipeline — and the left is as guilty as the right.
The Bluesky post that started this thread did something technically simple and rhetorically precise: it named AI image generation as a confirmation bias accelerant rather than a tool for creative expression or disinformation-at-scale [6]. That framing matters because it refuses the two dominant analytical categories. This is not a story about deepfakes engineered to deceive millions, and it is not a story about the AI creativity debate. It is a story about the low-friction conversion of a belief into a picture, and the subsequent treatment of that picture as proof.
