An NHS patient's account of the Heidi documentation trial did more analytical work than the trial's official record. The system completed its pilot across several trusts with zero documented patient objections — a result that the institutional process produced by design. When the patient raised a concern directly with their doctor, it went nowhere: the doctor could not answer the question, and the concern never reached the people running the trial . The mechanism for capturing patient experience simply was not part of the trial architecture.
